Gendered Constitution Building for Syria

This report explores challenges and highlights good practices related to the institutionalization of women’s rights and gender equality principles and values in constitutions. It also emphasizes the efforts of women’s movements to include and/or preserve women’s rights and gender equality as founding principles in democratic constitutions.  While it is written with a future Syrian constituiton making process in mind, it provides specific and concrete strategies, tactics and advice for women's engagement in constitution making and substantive constitutional outcomes related to gender rights and women's participation.  The section on "lessons learend" in particular offers useful strategies and tactics for women's engagement.  The first half of the report is in ENGLISH and the second half in ARABIC.
