This is the summary of the outcome of talks that resumed under UN auspices. It recounts the issues that are left to be addressed by the parties in future talks and calls for some interim measures to be taken between negotiations.  It also calls for a Coordination Council to implement the provisions of the statement.

This agreement provide operational guidelines for the implementation of the General Cessation of Hostilities. It provides a definition of terms, actions exempted from the cessation of hostilities, the ground rules for operations and mechanisms for coordination between the parties.  

Conakry Peace Plan

This agreement calls for an immediate cessation of hostilities and the reinstatement of the legitimate government of President Tejan Kabbah within a period of six months. It provides for power-sharing arrangements, DDR and amnesty for for events of 25 May 1997.
